“Conducting International Negotiations onIntellectual Property Issues”
Please join us…. As we launch 2005 with special 2-hour Mini-Seminar on a topic that everyone has been asking for! This seminar features intellectual property issues wrapped in the context of international negotiations. It will focus on critical thinking, international/cultural sensitivity and communications skills. This will be a hands-on negotiation training with the instructors working directly with the participants. Join us on January 14th to participate, learn and find out much more about this relevant subject. The instructors will tailor exercises to meet the needs and challenges of the audience. Attendance certifications with 2.0 hours of training credit will be provided.
Location, Parking and Museum Tours: The Museum of Flight is located at the south end of Boeing Field at 9408 East Marginal Way, Seattle, WA 98108. Parking is ample and free. At no additional cost, seminar attendees may arrive early or stay after the seminar to tour the Museum and a British Airways Concorde and an Air Force One Airplane. Airplane tours end at 3:00 PM and the Museum is open until 6:00 PM. www.museumofflight.org

T. Noble Foster, Assistant Dean, Albers School of Business & Economics
Terry Foster is Assistant Dean of the Albers School of Business & Economics. As Assistant Dean his primary responsibilities include budget and accreditation. He has taught in the Albers School since 1992. His teaching emphasis is in Negotiations, Business Ethics and International Business Law. He is the President of the Washington Law Institute that has offered numerous continuing legal education seminars since 1991. He has been a member of the Washington State Bar since 1976.
David W. Arnesen, Chair, Department of Management
David Arnesen is Chair of the Department of Management, the largest department on campus comprising the disciplines of management, marketing, operations, business law, ethics, and e-commerce. He is the former Acting Dean (2000-01) and Director of International Business Programs (1993-98). In 1998-99 he was the Boeing Endowed Chair in Business Ethics. Professor Arnesen has received numerous awards for teaching excellence including being named MBA Professor of the Year seven times and Undergraduate Business Professor of the Year five times.
Professor Arnesen teaches Negotiations, International Business Law and Business Ethics in the MBA program at the Albers School of Business & Economics. With a focus on international business, Professor Arnesen has led numerous international study tours for MBA students to visit “global” companies. He recently presented his research on “Conducting International Negotiations: Understanding Cultural Differences to Reach Successful Agreements” at Pacific Northwest Academy of Legal Studies in Business/American Business Law Association annual conference, April 26, 2004. |
